Finding the right model is always an interesting part of the creative process, and with this new project, I wanted to start fresh; introducing a brand-new face to the world of Cruella. I discovered Tammy through a resource website designed to connect photographers, models, makeup artists, and studios. She had the look and attitude I was searching for, so I booked her for a full-day shoot at my home studio.
The plan for this first shoot was to keep things simple; just a straightforward introduction to working together. When working with an experienced model who’s been in the industry for years, you can often jump straight into complex concepts, as they instinctively know how to move and adapt. But when working with someone new; especially someone unfamiliar with my particular style, it’s crucial to establish a rapport, make them feel comfortable, and ease them into the shoot.
Unlike standard glamour work, my style has its own distinct tone, and it’s essential that a model feels at ease and safe in the environment. That’s why these initial sessions are more about building confidence and trust rather than diving straight into intense creative concepts. For this shoot, I kept things simple. Just a clean studio setup with a smoking fetish theme.
As the day progressed, Tammy really opened up. She was relaxed, chatty, and seemed to enjoy the experience. A happy model who feels comfortable is the key to great future shoots, and by the end of the day, it was clear that we had laid the groundwork for more exciting projects to come.
This was just day one; the first step on her journey to becoming a Cruella Goddess. Stay tuned as we continue to develop her persona and style in the shoots ahead!
